This week Acorn and Oak class were lucky enough to have a visit from Amy, a zoo keeper. Amy has worked at Chester Zoo, lived in the Amazon Rain forest and currently works for Yorkshire Wildlife Park looking after polar bears, giraffes, lemurs, lions and many more animals.
Amy told us lots of facts about different animals and showed us lots of interesting photographs and artefacts. We had to use our noses like Anteaters to detect smells and find a partner with the same smell.
We looked at tiger claws, teeth and a model of a tigers skull. Amy also used a decibel meter to see if we could roar as loud as a lion.
Thank you for coming to see us Amy. Amy’s visit was a fantastic addition to the recent work of both classes on animals and their habitats.
