Kurling champions

Well done to the 2 teams who represented our school at the New Age Kurling competition after school today.  We didn’t quite know what to expect when we arrived at Corbet as there was no ice and we were not sure if we needed brooms!

Luckily we had a demonstration and a bit of a practice first before the competition started. The children used special kurling stones on ball bearings that they had to slide along the ground towards a target.  It was quite challenging, as many stones fell short or overshot the target.

We had 2 teams made up of y5 and 6 children. Both teams played excellently and really improved as we progressed through the competition, sliding stones more accurately and working out strategies to improve their scores.

In the end team 2 finished in 5th place and team 1 finished FIRST after a nail biting final against Baschurch.

Well done to all the children for playing and behaving impeccably as always and thank you to all the adults who supported us.
